Eclipse is built for discretion. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the control you have. Plain language first; the specifics follow.
Who we are
Eclipse ("Eclipse", "we", "us") operates a private, invitation-based community and events platform for verified adults aged 21 and over. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Information we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work and to keep members safe:
- Account details you provide — email, phone (optional), display name, city, and profile content.
- Age & identity verification data — date of birth and the verification selfie/ID check used to confirm you are a real adult.
- Usage data — how you interact with Discover, Events, and Messages, on a need-to-operate basis.
- Approximate location — derived from device signals to power nearby matching and events. We never display your precise address.
How we use it
- To verify age and identity and prevent impersonation.
- To match you with nearby members and surface relevant events.
- To keep the community safe — reviewing reports, detecting fraud, and enforcing our Guidelines.
- To process payments for subscriptions, add-ons, and event listings.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data.
- We never show your exact location, birth date, or verification selfie on your public profile.
- We never reveal to another member that you reported or blocked them.
- We never post to your other accounts or contact people in your phonebook without permission.
Your controls
You are in charge of your presence. In-app you can enable incognito browsing, blur photos until matched, hide from contacts, and manage private albums.
You can request a copy of your data or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your profile and content; limited records may be retained where required by law or for safety (e.g. records of a banned account).
Data retention & security
We keep personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Verification media is stored separately from your profile and access is tightly restricted.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and routine review. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat member privacy as core to the product.
Children
Eclipse is strictly for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21, and accounts found to belong to minors are removed immediately.
